Here we answer the most frequently asked questions about a visit to Bavaria Filmstadt.

General information about Filmstadt

Do I have to register to visit the Filmstadt?

Individual visitors do not need to register. Groups of 10 people or more are requested to make a reservation in good time at www.filmstadt.de/en/groups so that they can get to Bavaria Filmstadt on the desired date without having to wait.

What offers can I take advantage of at Filmstadt?

You can take advantage of the "Filmstadt Combi" offer (=Filmstadt guided tour and 4D cinema).

If you are unable to visit the 4D cinema (e.g. due to a recent operation), you can also just take the Filmstadt guided tour.
You can also visit our brand new attraction "Hologate", a virtual reality experience in a class of its own!

Can I move around Filmstadt without being accompanied by an employee?

Guests can explore the Filmstadt entrance area unaccompanied. The rest of the site is a company site that can be visited as part of a guided tour with a tour guide. Information for an individually tailored program can be found here

Is Bavaria Filmstadt also open on Sundays?

Yes, Bavaria Filmstadt is open every day, including weekends. Please note the opening hours and closing days, which you can find here.

Can Bavaria Filmstadt also be visited by people with disabilities?

Yes, most of the attractions are suitable for people with disabilities. The Filmstadt tour is largely barrier-free. We can provide wheelchairs for groups with a maximum of four disabled people. For people with special needs, please contact us by telephone on +49 (0) 89 / 64 99 20 00.

When does the person accompanying a visitor with a disability receive free admission?

For people with disabilities who have a B in their ID, one accompanying person receives free admission to all attractions.

Do teachers get free admission?

Yes, two teachers per registered school class receive free admission to the booked program.

Are dogs allowed in the Bavaria Filmstadt?

Dogs on a lead are permitted during the Filmstadt tour.

Dogs are not allowed in the 4D cinema. You can find more information on the subject of excursions with dogs here.

What role do weather conditions play when visiting the Film City?

Many of the sets that you visit during the guided tour of the Filmstadt are outdoors.
Sturdy shoes and clothing appropriate to the weather are therefore recommended.

Are all the decorations and attractions always on display?

Due to weather conditions and filming, decorations/attractions may have to be closed at short notice.
In this case, there is no entitlement to a refund or replacement.

How much time do you need to plan for a visit to Filmstadt?

We recommend a stay of approx. 2 hours for the "Filmstadt Kombi" offer. You will receive a fixed time at the ticket office for the Filmstadt guided tour with 4 D cinema.

Where can I eat at Bavaria Filmstadt?

The Filmstadt Shop offers a small selection of baked goods, snacks and drinks. You are welcome to bring your own snacks and eat them in the Coca Cola Lounge in summer, for example.

Do adult birthday children also have free admission on the day of their birthday?

Yes, the offer is valid for children, teenagers and adults.

Guided tour

Is every Filmstadt guided tour the same?

Our tour guides are specially trained to respond to visitors' questions. Therefore, no two tours are the same. There may also be production-related changes to the Filmstadt tour schedule, as filming takes place in Filmstadt every day and not all sets can always be visited.

How big are the groups that are guided through Filmstadt?

The regular group size can be up to 55 people. When purchasing a ticket for the tour, individuals are combined into a group. Registered groups of less than 55 people will also be brought together with other guests for the Filmstadt tour.

Am I allowed to take photos or videos during the Filmstadt tour?

Photography and video recording is permitted in the Filmstadt for private purposes.

Can a stroller be taken on the Filmstadt tour?
